JOB DESCRIPTION
Part-time ushers are required to perform a variety of duties for
film screenings, workshops, lectures and performances at the
National Museum's event spaces, under supervision of the House
Manager or Theatre Operations Manager.
Duties include:
(These examples do not include all the duties which may be assigned;
any one position may not include all the duties listed.)
- Greeting and directing visitors/patrons; provides information and
assistance in routine and emergency situations; distributes programs.
- Assist in auditorium and lobby preparation for events.
- Adhere to the National Museum's policies and procedures, performs
related duties as required.
We need someone who is able to:
- work varying hours;
- remain calm in stressful situations;
- stand for extended periods of time;
- exercise good judgment, courtesy and tact with staff and the
public; present a clean, neat appearance;
- utilise good customer service skills and techniques.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Experience:
Any combination of experience or training that would provide the
required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Education:
Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to provide a referral
letter if under 18 and have not completed 'O' levels or the
equivalent.
INTERVIEW AND TRAINING:
Selected applicants will be required to attend an interview,
followed by an unpaid half-day orientation and basic training
programme in February 2009 before booking for any events.
